Claire Galer is a highly accomplished senior executive with over 30 years of leadership experience across the UK, European, and global equestrian and animal health sectors. Recognised for her commercial acumen, strategic clarity, and industry authority, Claire has built, scaled, and led award-winning equestrian businesses operating across Europe, the USA, the Middle East, and Australia.

A BSc (Hons) graduate in Equine Science, Claire’s academic foundation in equine veterinary science, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and sports therapy underpins a career that bridges technical understanding with commercial execution. Her professional trajectory uniquely combines veterinary pharmaceutical sales, equine performance consultancy, international brand development, distributor management, and C-suite leadership within global equestrian organisations.

Claire is the Founder of CG Equestrian Business Consultancy, established to provide specialist advisory services to equestrian businesses seeking sustainable international growth, refined brand positioning, improved distributor performance, and strategic market expansion. Her consultancy integrates deep sector knowledge with practical operational experience, delivering measurable commercial outcomes for clients across multiple territories.

Previously, as Head of EMEA Sales & Marketing for Saddlery Brands International Ltd, Claire played a pivotal role in scaling the European business portfolio. She directed sales and marketing strategies across Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and Africa, negotiating and managing complex international distributor agreements, leading high-performance regional teams, and delivering robust P&L management across multi-brand portfolios.

Claire is also the Founder and former CEO of Derriere Equestrian Ltd, an internationally recognised, award-winning equestrian brand supplying more than 400 retailers in 38 countries. Launching at SPOGA Horse in 2014 and immediately winning the Silver Innovation Award, she built the brand from concept to global distribution, establishing strong B2B and B2C revenue models, intellectual property protection, international e-commerce infrastructure, and trusted trade partnerships. The business was successfully sold in 2022, reflecting both its brand value and strategic positioning within the global equestrian marketplace.

Her earlier career includes senior sales and technical advisory roles with Bayer Plc within the veterinary pharmaceutical sector, and Dodson & Horrell Ltd within equine nutrition, building a comprehensive understanding of veterinary practice operations, pharmaceutical marketing, equine retail dynamics, and national key account management. This experience provides Claire with rare insight into both clinical and commercial aspects of the equine industry.

Beyond corporate leadership, Claire is a qualified Equine and Human Sports Therapist, having worked closely with veterinary surgeons, elite riders, trainers, and Team GB Olympic and Paralympic squad members. She served as Chairman of the Equine Sports Massage Association (2011–2013) and Chairman of MAST during the DEFRA and LANTRA Review of the Veterinary Procedures Regime (2011–2014), demonstrating her influence at regulatory and governance level within the profession.

Dr Tim Galer is one of the United Kingdom’s most respected and experienced equine veterinary surgeons, known for his clinical excellence, specialist credentials, and influential contributions to equine veterinary practice, education, and industry standards.

Tim graduated from The Royal Veterinary College, London with his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and soon achieved the Royal College Certificate in Equine Stud Medicine (CertESM), a highly regarded specialist qualification in equine reproduction and stud health. He continues to contribute to the profession as an examiner for the Royal College Certificate in Equine Stud Medicine, helping uphold the highest standards of specialist training for future equine vets.

In 1991, Tim established Peasebrook Equine Clinic, building it into a purpose designed, full-service equine hospital and referral practice renowned for its comprehensive diagnostic, surgical, and rehabilitation facilities. Today, the clinic boasts advanced capabilities in lameness investigation, diagnostic imaging (including radiography, endoscopy and ultrasound), dentistry, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, in-house laboratory services, and bespoke rehabilitation programmes, all delivered with continuity of care and clinical precision.

Over more than three decades in practice, Tim’s clinical interests have matured into deep specialist expertise in lameness investigation and sports medicine, complex surgical procedures, pre-purchase examinations across all equine disciplines, and stud medicine, making him a trusted authority for high-performance athletes, leisure horses, and breeding stock alike. He remains intimately involved in the majority of stud work the practice undertakes, combining expert reproductive management with evidence-based medicine.
